Maria Soledad Gallego Bernad started working as a lawyer in 1994.

Having worked in administrative, penal, and civil areas she decided to specialize in Environmental law, City planning and Land management from 1999 onwards. She carried out work of legal consultancy and was in charge of many legal procedures for autonomic and local public administrations, organizations and citizen collectives.

From 2002 until November 2005 she had the following positions: General Director of City Planning, General Director of Water and General Director of Housing of the regional council of Castilla la Mancha.

She has been a member of the National Board of Water of the Ministry of Environment and Vice President of the Water Board of the Basin of the Tajo. She has also formed part of managing and planning governmental bodies of the Hydrographic Confederations of the Tajo, Guadiana, Jucar, Segura, Duero, Ebro and Guadalquivir rivers. She has been the Vice president of the body of Public Water law of Castilla la Mancha and has formed part of the Administrative Board of the Public Company of Management of Infrastructures GICAMAN as well as of the Management Board of the Institute of Women in the said region.

She has also participated in different Sectorial and Multilateral Conferences held by the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Housing on the subjects of city planning, land management and housing.

Since 2006 she has been working as a lawyer in the Association of Lawyers in Madrid having jointly formed the consulting company “Sámara, Environmental legal Services”. Currently she has a legal office in Madrid specializing in Environmental law and Land Management.
